I'd knock out the AOTL necro for a ST rit. One ST rit provides near unlimited protection to the party against both spells and melee.
OACjAyhDJPYzwp17s94gmOzLGA
Next, for more protection, I'd change the mesmer up a bit: OQZCAswTOgGY6aCXAl/0DZA
And I'd change one of your N/Rts to this: OAljUwGqJSxMfBNiKg0b7YkY4YA because, hell, paras as a secondary rule. Just remember to outfit with a 8/15 shield and a physical spear.
Now, you have all of this protection but no heals: OwAS0YITeRNg3NbETfdRtEoR
I chose a Monk healer over a n/rt healer for a few reasons. One, this provides AoE healing, and when used in conjunction with the above builds, pretty much just tops off the party whenever needed. Also, I don't like rit healers. With Life and PwK, they slow down my party.
Now, just remember: Whatever you do, do NOT run a MM with a ST rit. The ST rit will be spamming skills and all you'll have is a useless member that actually will be doing harm to your group. I don't know how, but when I ran 8/8 with an ST rit/MM, I wiped in HM very, very fast. I then ran 7/8 with just a MM, and got through it. Then I ran (Cuz at this point, I was curious) 7/8 with just a ST rit. No member of my party dropped below 50% HP.

That's cuz your ST rit's Shelters and Unions were getting instantly eaten up by the minions taking damage. I also don't like the rest of your advice. You're telling him to drop the "Aotl Rit" even though it's an Aotl Necro that's serving as a minion bomber - in most of the game, minions are very, very useful. That is one hero you shouldn't drop unless you're going to UW or something.

Plus, heroes are pretty bad at using ST. With the ER prot, you don't even need that much defense.
I wouldn't run discord on the Necros, either. I'd change one to Xinrae's Weapon and probably drop the other for some sort of high damage output guy.
Your last hero could be a rit and you could split up the spirits so you have Vampirism, Bloodsong, SoS, and Spiritleech Aura or something like that. Honestly, this much defense isn't needed, even in HM.

Your team set-up looks really great, imo. I would make only some minor modifications to make it possibly slightly better.
I would either run all 3 necroes as discord with a communing rit in the 7th slot.
If the area was not suitable for discord heroes, then I would turn the 3 necroes to some modified sabway necroes and still use a communing rit as my 7th hero.

ER Infuse + 2 N/Rts should be enough healing. My concern would be that you don't quite have enough conditions to ensure that your enemy will always be at the mercy of your discorders - so, with this in mind I'd suggest a paragon.
If you ran a Soldier's Fury Paragon you'd be able to take "Fall Back" off your Mesmer and spread the points out a bit (maybe take a res off one of your N/Rts and stick it there instead - sorry, its a pet hate of mine).
A Paragon hero with the following setup would provide shedloads of damage, conditions and he's pretty hardy due to his high armour:
Spear Mastery - 12+1+1
Command - 9+1
Leadership - 9+1
Barbed Spear
Vicious Attack
Blazing Spear
"Go for the Eyes!"
Anthem of Flame
Soldier's Fury
"Fall Back!"
Optional Slot (I'd go with a res, or a long lasting shout like "They're on Fire!" to ensure you're always under a shout).
You don't need any more defense and putting a para in there would help bar compression on your mesmer, add conditions for your discord and give you a more powerful and long lasting fall back to increase mobility.

Splitting up the ritualist spammer in to 1 SoS rit (player) and 1 SoGM rit (Hero) allows you as the player to have more utility slots which can be used for PVE skills.

To be honest, I play very defensively. Minions are great, true, but I find an ST rit hero and a SoS rit hero do much, much more damage and are much, much better at migating damage. Plus, they're much faster then a MM, which either (A) sits around spamming death nova or (B) sits around spamming minion skills. By the time that a MM is in the fray, everything is dead anyways. Unless you're playing as a MM, or it's a "Defend X!" mission objective, MMs are generally inferior in both terms of defense and offense to spirit rits.
And my rit plays ST fine. I dunno what's wrong with yours.
And as for the necro/rit thing, I mistyped. I fixed it for you, though.
